Say 'YES' to the Prom
While some Online Charter Schools and Co-ops may organize a Prom or other school dances, not all do and, what of all the other Homeschoolers out there!?
Meet The Cincinnati Homeschool Prom Group. This was started by a homeschool family that did not want their teens to miss their prom. They still continue to run it today and have incorporated all age dances and parties for all occasions, such as Halloween and Valentine's Day.
If you are included to take your kids to dances and prom, then consider getting with some friends and starting your own prom group! Try reaching out to local business to get group discounts might offset the costs, such as florist, hair salon, tux rental, photographer, etc. Perhaps the girls can set up a dress exchange or offer them for re-sale. Setting up a group like this sounds fun and rewarding. I'd do it myself if we didn't already have this great one here in Cincinnati!
Good Luck and "Prom On"!Try a small one, just for Halloween. Ours is the week after, so it doesn't interfere with many people's plans. Those who don't have plans still have this event to look forward to. Plus, all the costumes are on sale, hee, hee! If you do, please keep in touch and let us know how it is going!
