Expectations

As homeschoolers, we appreciate that we have the freedom to adjust when necessary. These policies will be updated as needed, and we will work together to fine tune our co-op to make sure that our goals are being accomplished and that we are getting the most from our group.

We will review key points of our policies, help you choose your classes, and have your questions answered. Payments can be made in person via cash, or online using PayPal + 3%. Sorry, no checks.

When new classes are announced, Members can 'Pre-Register' to reserve a spot, and register later, and pay when we open enrollment. This is the best method to guarantee your spot! Quickly and conveniently enroll in your classes and pay online with PayPal* + 3%. You can fill out the additional forms under ENROLL.

Membership:

Join our Facebook Group where you can communicate with us and other members. The Clermont Homeschool CO-NNECTIONS Facebook Group will be the primary means of communication. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email clermonthomeschoolers@gmail.com. We also have a FB Page and Twitter . We now have Pinterest and Instagram pages.

Costs:

Facilities expenses and most supplies fees are covered by class tuition. Costs vary depending on the class.

In order to keep the cost as low as possible, we operate as a partial cooperative. Families can opt to share in the Instructor and Helper roles in the CO-OP in place of session costs, or, they can pay the session costs and have no other obligation to the CO-OP. You can stay and play, or pay and go!

Class Instructors and Helpers receive their own children at no charge. Siblings are also free to stay in the social area with parental, or your approved supervision.

Supplies Fees:

Some classes may require an additional supplies fee. We will keep these as low as possible also. If there is an additional class cost, that will be in the class’s description.

Registration:

Tuition and registration forms for each session are due at open registration days, or online one week before the first day of the session. See the Registration Page, under Enrollment for details. Payments can be made in person via cash or online via PayPal + 3%. Forms can be filled out and submitted online, under Enrollment. We have a one time enrollment fee of $10.00 per family, for first time families. *Fee was waived for January 2017 enrollments.

Non-Discrimination:

We enjoy a non-competitive, safe atmosphere. We are secular, and inclusive, and do not discriminate or judge regarding religion, race, gender, sexual orientation, appearance, economic, national or ethnic origin. We welcome all special needs; special needs of any kind; academic, physical, mental or emotional impediments, impairments or disabilities. We promote diversity, tolerance and encourage multi-age, multi-ability group play and learning. We have a no-tolerance policy on bullying and teasing.

Illness and Hygiene:
We ask on the honor system that children will not be brought into the building with any contagious illness, fever, communicable disease and including other contagions such as lice, etc., as we are sharing the space with other occupants. We respectfully request that children arrive relatively clean and wash their hands before and after snack and bathroom use. Additionally, food should be eaten at the tables and cleaned up if spilled, including the floor. Children should have clean clothing, hands and face, particularly for cooking classes and handling food. Make up classes will be arranged for missed classes. Participants should not attend if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

    1.    Colored mucus
    2.    Diarrhea, vomiting or nausea (within last 24 hours)
    3.    Eye drainage
    4.    Virus or infection (known to be contagious)
    5.    Rashes (contagious)
    6.    Head lice or bed bugs
    7.    Fever (within last 24 hours - unmedicated)

Grooming and Personal Items:
Some co-ops have strict dress and grooming codes. We do not. Please dress casually and comfortably, with a few guidelines. Boys and girls may wear hats and head scarves. We welcome people with piercings, tattoos, or dyed hair. We ask that kids wear appropriate footwear and clothing for using the rec equipment such as trampoline or playing on the carpeted floor. Children should have shoes at all times, and socks on mini trampoline. Please refrain from clothing that depicts or promotes racism, sexism, or hatred of any group or person. The CO-OP, nor the Bross Center are responsible for personal property, including phones and electronic devices. Please do not bring weapons or toys realistically resembling weapons. We will have exceptions for Nerf gun 'wars'. If you have a specific question about what not to bring or wear, please ask!

Courtesy:
Everyone is expected to behave in a respectful fashion at all times. If a child is disrupting a class session and does not respond to verbal redirection, the parent will be asked to attend the child in the class for the duration of the co-op day. Be respectful of adults and children alike. When in doubt, apply the Golden Rule. It is very important we maintain a safe environment for all of our children, both physically and emotionally. For frequent or serious issues the parent is expected to remain with the child during that class.  Please see our Personal Conduct Form .

Equipment:
Please be respectful of the equipment and furniture in the center. Please do not allow standing on chairs or tables, climbing or using anything labeled as 'do not use'. Additionally, children should remain in the room that they are supposed to be in and please notify someone if leaving the area. Please no running through the hall.

Lateness:

Please notify if you will be late or will miss a class.

Please Facebook Message Katherine Sears Lent

or Call or TEXT 513-818-COOP (2667) or 513-886-1086

We will make every effort to arrange a make-up class, or a different class.*

Snow Days:

In the case of severe weather or other extenuating circumstances, you will receive an email and a Facebook notification by 11am should we be closed or on a delayed schedule. Many of us live in semi-rural areas that are impassable or dangerous. Typically, if the school buses aren't running, we will not open. Makeup days will be arranged.

Refunds:

Refunds are not given as we have committed to paying rent. We plan our co-op classes by the multi-week session. The commitment between the members and the co-op should be for the duration of the session. Please be aware that we are dependent on each of our members to make the co-op work. There are no refunds for missed classes. Please contact me to make arrangements for your missed class. If there is an issue that requires us to make a decision to remove a child from class, the option will be given to have the parent accompany them in class so they don't miss the class.
